This is a simple version of the famous Indian restaurant favorite. It is rich, creamy, and mildly sweet.
Ingredients:
- 500g chicken breast (cut into bite-sized pieces)
- 1 tbsp oil & 2 tbsp butter
- 1 onion (chopped)
- 2 tsp garlic-ginger paste
- 1 cup tomato puree
- 1 tsp garam masala & 1 tsp chili powder
- ½ cup heavy cream
Steps:
- Cook the chicken: Heat oil in a pan. Cook the chicken until it turns white, then remove it and set it aside.
- Cook aromatics: In the same pan, melt 1 tbsp of butter. Fry the onions, garlic, and ginger until soft.
- Make the sauce: Add the tomato puree, garam masala, and chili powder. Simmer for 5 minutes.
- Combine: Add the cooked chicken back into the sauce. Stir in the heavy cream and the remaining 1 tbsp of butter.
- Simmer: Let it cook on low heat for 5 more minutes until the chicken is tender. Serve with rice or naan.
