Google has a very interesting Doodle, and the giant zipper allows you”unzip” the logo and see the search results for Gideon Sundback, the inventor of the google zipper.
Sundback was born on April 24, 1880, at Småland, Sweden. After he had completed his studies and moved to Germany. He emigrated to the U.S. in 1905.
Back in 1905, Gideon Sundback started to Operate in Westinghouse Electric and Manufacturing Company at Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. In 1906, Sundback hired in work in Universal Fastener Company of Hoboken, New Jersey. Subsequently, in 1909, Sundback was promoted to the job of head designer at Universal Fastener.
Sundback made several advances in the growth of the zipper between 1906 and 1914 while working for companies that evolved to Talon, Inc. He built upon the previous work with other engineers such as Elias Howe, Max Wolff, and Whitcomb L. Judson.
According to interlocking teeth he is working as an engineer for the Universal Fastener Company in Hoboken, New Jersey. Sundback perfected the old idea of a fastener.
His”Hookless No. 2″ creation — primarily the new metallic zipper patent in 1917.
